Industrial
Custom STM32H7 platform for multi-zone climate control with isolated CAN backbone.
Contribution: Designed the complete PCB architecture including power delivery, high-speed MCU routing, and EMI-shielded sensor stages.
Impact: Shipped a ruggedized platform that survives high-humidity agricultural environments with 100% field reliability.
Greenhouse Controller PCB
The Hard Part
Greenhouses are electrically noisy environments. High-power motors and vent actuators create massive EMI spikes that can reset an unprotected MCU or corrupt sensitive sensor readings.
The Approach
We designed a 4-layer stackup with dedicated ground planes and galvanic isolation for the CAN bus and sensor inputs. Every power rail is heavily decoupled with multi-stage LC filters. Field diagnostics include dedicated rail-health LEDs and a transient-capture buffer.
Maritime
Ruggedized ARM Cortex-M7 gateway for global vessel tracking and NMEA 2000 ingest.
Contribution: Designed the mechanical integration, thermal solution, and board-level protection for maritime vibration and salt-spray.
Impact: Consolidated vessel telemetry into a single, service-free enclosure that withstands global shipping routes.
Maritime Telemetry Edge Box
The Hard Part
Engine rooms reach 60°C. An enclosed ARM Cortex-M7 gateway running high-frequency data ingest will throttle or fail without an explicit thermal pathway to the chassis.
The Approach
We utilized a milled aluminum enclosure as a primary heat sink, coupled via high-conductivity thermal pads to the MCU and power stages. The board design minimizes hotspots by distributing power dissipation across larger copper pours, ensuring stable 200MHz operation at peak ambient.
Infrastructure
ESP32-C6 based controller with hardware-level safety interlocks for 2MW fleet charging.
Contribution: Designed the control hardware including the ESP32-C6 module integration and dedicated safety watchdog logic.
Impact: Reduced field failures by 90% via hardware-level watchdog timers and redundant safety cutoff paths.
EV Fleet Charging Gateway
The Hard Part
If the software hangs while 80 vans are drawing 2MW, the results can be catastrophic. Relying solely on software for safety is not acceptable in high-power infrastructure.
The Approach
We implemented a multi-stage safety architecture. A dedicated low-power supervisor MCU monitors the main ESP32-C6. If it detects a heartbeat loss, it physically interrupts the contactor drive rails, bypassing the main CPU entirely. This ensures a "safe-state" drop even in the event of a total software crash.
Energy
ESP32-S3 bridge board translating legacy RS-485 Modbus to modern Cloud/MQTT streams.
Contribution: Designed a compact DIN-rail mountable PCB with integrated RS-485 transceiver and wide-range DC/DC input.
Impact: Enabled non-invasive energy monitoring for legacy buildings without requiring panel rewiring.
Modbus Protocol Bridge
The Hard Part
Electrical cabinets are cramped. The bridge must fit in a standard DIN-rail slot while converting 24VDC industrial power to stable 3.3V without excessive heat buildup.
The Approach
We utilized a high-efficiency switching regulator with a 50V input tolerance to handle industrial supply noise. The layout is optimized for a 35mm DIN-rail footprint, including a custom 3D-printed enclosure designed for easy rail-snap and wiring access.
